SP7 Questionaire

I've been totally lazy the past x days, but I do have a few updates coming. To get started, here's my answers for the newest SP exchange. I got my pal's name tonight, and I already have a secretive note and cute e-postcard from my pal. Yay!

1. Are you a yarn snob (do you prefer higher quality and/or natural fibers)? Do you avoid Red Heart and Lion Brand?

Sorta kinda. I hate to say I'm a yarn snob really, but I prefer soft and natural fibers. I do a ton of knitting with Encore though as everyone I knit for insists on machine washables.

2. Do you spin? Crochet?

I do both, but neither very well. I'm very interested in getting better at spinning though. Crochet is interesting, but I do prefer knitting.

3. What do you use to store your needles/hooks in?

Right now I have my straights and dpns in needle rolls. My circs are all in the little zippies they came in.

4. How long have you been knitting? Would you consider your skill level to be beginner, intermediate or advanced?

I've been really knitting for maybe 2 years or so. I guess I'd say I'm advanced. I'm pretty comfortable with most of my skills and there's nothing I'm really scared to knit, but there are still some simple things (like finishing) that I need to work on.

5. Do you have an Amazon or other online wish list?

I have a wish list blog, there's a link on the sidebar.

6. What's your favorite scent? (for candles, bath products etc.)

Honey! I've been on a big honey kick lately. I also like vanilla and fruity/citrusy scents. Pretty much anything but really flowery.

7. Do you have a sweet tooth? Favorite candy?

Of course! I'm not a big fan of chocolate, but can definitely do white or dark chocolate in moderation. I really love fruity candies like skittles or starburst. And I LOVE gummies of all types.

8. What other crafts or Do-It-Yourself things do you like to do?

Anything really. I cross-stitch, sew, scrapbook, make cards, etc. And what I havne't tried that's crafty I probably want to try.

9. What kind of music do you like? Can your computer/stereo play MP3s? (if your buddy wants to make you a CD)

I am a big country fan, but I listen to lots of other things too. My computer can play mp3s and I'm determined to get an iPod soon.

10. What's your favorite color? Or--do you have a color family/season/palette you prefer? Any colors you just can't stand?

PINK! Pink is by far my fave color, but I'm pretty open to colors in general. I guess neons are probably my least favorite, but I could find a use for them if I tried.

11. What is your family situation? Do you have any pets?

I live with my sweetie Jaime and our one hamster.

12. Do you wear scarves, hats, mittens or ponchos?

I don't wear ponchos mostly because I generally carry a backpack and/or purse. The others I wear though.

13. What is/are your favorite yarn/s to knit with?

I'm a big fan of Cascade 220. I really haven't experienced too many yarns, so other than that I can't say. I'd love to find some new favorites though :)

14. What fibers do you absolutely *not* like?

I'm not terribly big on novelty yarns, if that counts, but even they have their place.

15. What is/are your current knitting obsession/s?

Hmmm. I'm currently obsessed with finishing old projects so I can start some new ones fresh. I have the yarn a plans for a couple shrugs once I get the old stuff finished.

16. What is/are your favorite item/s to knit?

Anything really. Scarves kinda make me crazy if they don't have much to keep me interested.

17. What are you knitting right now?

I'm working on finishing up a clapotis, a double knit (read: sloooow moving) scarf, and a pair of socks with Cascade Fixation.

18. Do you like to receive handmade gifts?

Sure!

19. Do you prefer straight or circular needles?

Straight in theory, but cirsulars are usually more practical so I have more of them.

20. Bamboo, aluminum, plastic?

Yes please, hehe.

21. Do you own a yarn winder and/or swift?

No, but I'd LOVE to ;)

22. How did you learn to knit?

I taught myself from a book.

23. How old is your oldest UFO?

Too old! A little over a year old.

24. What is your favorite animated character or a favorite animal/bird?

I like Pooh and his friends the best. My favorite animal is a pig.

25. What is your favorite holiday?

Christmas

26. Is there anything that you collect?

Pigs, yarns.

27. What knitting magazine subscriptions do you have?

Interweave Knits

28. Any books, yarns, needles or patterns out there you are dying to get your hands on?

Wow, there are so many. Anything on my list would be great, but I love surprises too.

29. Are there any new techniques you'd like to learn?

I'd like to learn fair isle.

30. Are you a sock knitter? What are your foot measurements?

Yes. My feet are about 9.75 inches around, 9.5 inches long, and my ankle is 10 inches around. My calves just get bigger from there so I always make myself ankle socks, but if you're brave I'd love regular length socks :)
