Woohoo! I finally finished my poncho. And it is just a perfect as I had hoped. I finished the actual knitting Saturday night. I didn't think I'd ever get it done; every time I tried it on in front of the mirror, it needed "just a couple more inches." Finally I just said enough. Luckily it worked out perfectly. This morning I finished seaming it up and hiding all those little ends. I'm so proud of myself!
Since I suddenly had an opening for a new project (I'm trying to keep it to 2 knitting projects at once) I immediately started on a scarf for my mom. Of course I made it too wide as usual (a bad habit of mine is to make scarves too wide) so I turned it into a pot holder for Jaime. It's kinda sheddy (made of lion brand chenille), but it's pretty nice. So I've finished two projects this weekend over all. Pretty cool!!

Inches
Gotten another couple inches done on my poncho. I got really excited cause techinically I should only have maybe 8 inches left. Unfortunately, I tried it on and due to my bigness, it looks like it will have to be at least another 20. Oh well, I'm enjoying the process, I just REALLY wanna wear it!! Still no action on the cross-stitch (Jaime's totally gonna win this bet) and no supplies for the earrings yet. Wish all this fun crafting stuff didn't cost so much! I do oh so love shopping to support my habits though.

More progress...and some temptation
My poncho is going really well. It is over 40" now and I'm beginning not to notice the color change as much (or at least I don't feel tears coming on whenever I see it). I can't wait to get it done as hopefully the cooler weather will be here soon. I have about a million other projects that I want to do too.
And for some reason I've suddenly gotten the itch to try my hand at some beading/jewelry making. Mostly earring making to be exact. I can never find what I want and haven't worn earrings in who knows how long. There are so many pretty beads and stuff out there, but it's sorta overwhelming. We'll have to see what happens.

First LYS purchase
I finally got my birthday money and of course my first stop was knitting related. After spending time with my parents the LYS waas closed so I went to Michael's to hold me over till today. There I bought one more skein of homespun to finish my poncho, some fun fur in blue and green multi for another fun scarf for me, and some red chenille for a scarf for my mom. Today I made it to the LYS (with my amazingly patient bf, quote:"They need a sign saying to check your testicles at the door.") and spent a good $80 on some black yarn for mittens, and some other fun yarns for scarves and ponchos.
In some sad news, I finally got to change skeins on my poncho (always exciting to me) and after 5 rows or so I noticed that there's a slight difference in the colors. I checked the dye lot and everything! :( Jaime says it's not noticeable, but it sure is annoying. Grrr. On a good note, I've got over 20"

A few more inches
I'm up to 14 inches on my poncho now. I love this thing more and more everytime I look at it! I'm glad it's Friday so I can have a whole weekend to knit. And maybe I'll get to some of the other things I should be doing (darn responsibility!!).
I've been trying desperately to get this blog set up how I want it. Unfortunately my perfectionism is kicking in. It's better than before though :)

My newest obsession
As usual, I have turned away from my other hobbies for the time being to focus on my new love, knitting. So far I've finished 2 scarves (though one was hideous and I started like 7 years ago) and one hat (which still needs to be felted). I'm working on a simple pot holder for Jaime (the bf), but it isn't that interesting so I've set it aside for my baby, my poncho. This is going to be the yummiest poncho ever. It's super simple (free pattern http://fuzzygalore.biz/patterns/spiky.shtml), but it looks like it might take a while. I'm using Homespun yarn from Lion and it's so nice. It's kinda an oatmeal color. I've been working on it for two days and it's only 10" (out of over 50"). Just means I can enjoy it for a while longer.
I do need to get back into cross-stitching though. Jaime bet me $100 that I couldn't finish this like 13" x 20" picture I started at least 7 years ago. I have till the first of the year and I don't know if I can make it. I'd love the money though :)
